On April 19, 2024, the Department of Education released its final Title IX regulations and a preamble totaling more than 1,500 pages with guidance on the regulations. The final regulations require significant changes to institutions’ grievance processes for resolving complaints of sex discrimination. This includes additional procedural requirements for a broader scope of complaints and changes to the requirements for the resolution of sex-based harassment complaints, such as no longer requiring institutions to hold live hearings and now allowing a single-investigator model. With an effective date of August 1, 2024, institutions need to move quickly to adopt a policy and grievance process that meet the requirements of the final regulations.

On April 22, 2024, just days after the new regulations were released, we hosted a webinar discussing the key takeaways that you need to know about the final regulations, including new legal requirements and guidance on the decisions institutions will need to make as they move toward compliance.

We are pleased to offer a new two (2) hour in-depth training that will further focus on the requirements of the grievance process sex discrimination and for sex-based harassment complaints, and will provide practical options for structuring a legally compliant process, with or without a live hearing.

Our training will be conducted by Higher Education attorneys specializing in Title IX compliance who have communicated with the Department of Education on these very issues. Because these attorneys also have extensive experience investigating and adjudicating sexual misconduct cases for institutions, this training incorporates firsthand, real-world experience and provides practical advice on navigating the complex final regulations.

This training is intended for institutions of higher ed and their employees only.
